Sogefi Group is a world leader in the design and manufacture of filtration systems, suspension components and air intake and cooling systems for the automotive industry.; The Montreal plant, whose main customers are Ford, GM and Denso, employs approximately 300 people and has built a reputation as a market leader, thanks to its technical and human capabilities, which are our greatest strength.; The buyer will be responsible of the direct purchases for the production activities of Montreal plant, constantly looking to maximize the performance Cost, Quality, and Delivery (QCD) and in line with the purchasing policy of the Group Budget of 120M CAD.;

Exemples de tâches à réaliser

• - Purchase the direct materials and the components for the production: handle the price negotiations with suppliers, contribute to the definition of the purchasing strategy, manage the different optimization activities: resourcings, VAVE, etc.
• - Conducts sourcing activities (RFI’s/RFQ’s, Analysis, Sourcing) strategy/ recommendations, contract negotiations, contract maintenance, enforcement) for components, including for tooling where required (ex. Resourcings)
• - Prepare contracts and purchase orders and the communication with suppliers
• - Make sure that all suppliers and parts information are correctly documented to ensure proper ordering, invoicing & cost control.
• - Generate ideas for cost reduction and optimization of part prices (including the supply chain if necessary) and monitor and execute those actions for the plant.
• - Lead the implementation for all transfers (resourcing, footprint change, supplier bankruptcies…)
• - Prepare the purchasing results reporting monthly (including reconciliation with finance) and present them.
• - Maintains effective supplier relationships by means of audits, visits, evaluations to review areas such as capabilities and capacities and work and propose Risk Mitigation plans where necessary
• - Contribute to build the plant purchasing budget and share it with the plant managers and controllers.
• - Control the competitiveness of our supplier panel monthly (perform market tests)
• - Support Logistics in supply crisis management and Quality in quality crisis management. Make sure that the proper escalation is made. Prioritize local resolution of issues and escalate to Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Director when needed.
• - Ensure high level of supplier quality performance, and support appropriate action plans for corrections with the Quality team in order to reach the Parts Per Million (PPM) targets.

Compétences recherchées

- Strong and proven track of negotiation skills and significant experience; - Strong networking skills with manufacturing / engineering / supply chain / quality and all internal customers; - Excellent communication and analytical skills (ability to present complex scenarios to senior management team); - Good knowledge of Manufacturing/Procurement/Logistics organization; - Results oriented, proactive and capable to work within a fast paced environment; - Bilingual French and English; - Good knowledge of IT tools / ERP systems AS400;

Formation requise

- University degree with a specialization in Procurement / Engineering / Purchasing; - 3 to 5 years experiences as Buyer within automotive / industrial context;
